Hypertension is a leading cause of cardiovascular mortality worldwide; it is otherwise known as the ‘silent killer’. Timely diagnosis and treatment are essential if the myriad complications of long-standing hypertension are to be avoided. Health services systems in many countries have established guidelines for dealing with hypertension. In keeping with the latest advances in treatment of hypertension, Iran relies on a vast network of medical professionals to treat hypertensive patients using up-to-date protocols. Keeping abreast of novel approaches to the management of hypertension warrants dynamic interaction among medical scientists and researchers across the world. The First International Congress of Prevention, Diagnosis and Management of Hypertension aims to promote such interaction and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience in the fields of diagnosis, prevention, and management of hypertension. Finding local solutions towards better control and treatment of hypertension is another objective of this congress. |
